The General rules section MUST be read to supplement these rules Permitted chassis Gearing Gearing is unlimited. Motors Tamiya TZ (53696) available via Tamiya Cupor Any UK commercially available 10.5T Brushless motor or Any UK commercially available 19T Brushed motor (without ballraces)
ESC Brushed - Choice of ESC is open. Gyros are not permitted Brushless - Any Brushless ESC. Bodyshells Any Tamiya electric touring body. Subaru Legacy B4 bodies are not permitted. All Tamiya Hop up wings are permitted Damper parts All Tamiya Dampers are permitted. This includes CVA, TRF and TRF Special versions. Parts are interchangeable between damper models as long as they can be fitted correctly without modification. All Tamiya on road hop up springs as well as kit springs are allowed. Screws, nuts washers etc All Tamiya screws, nuts, washers, connectors, turnbuckles and shafts are permitted. This includes standard parts (50xxx, 51xxx), hop up parts (53xxx), limited edition parts (49xxx) and Tamiya spare parts (7 digit numbers). Wheel hubs can be replaced with Tamiya clamp type of 4, 5 or 6mm. All Tamiya spacers, O rings, washers and shims can be used in ways other than directed in the manual for removal of play between moving parts. For the purpose of ‘handling tuning’, some parts may be omitted, otherwise the car must be built as directed in the manual. Gluing of parts together to avoid using screws is not allowed. Other Parts Roll bars from other Tamiya chassis’s may be used as long as they can be fitted without modification. All Tamiya servo savers, tierods and ballends are permitted. Non-Tamiya Spur gears of any size may be used, however these must be either 0.4 module/0.6 module or 48dp pitch gears. Non-Tamiya Pinions of the same pitch (04 or 06 module and 48dp) maybe used. Non Tamiya or other Tamiya hop-up bearings of the same size and type (53008, 53029 & 53066 etc) can be used. Bearing shields may not be removed. Suspension Suspension components can be mixed and matched, from the various systems produced by Tamiya. Swing shafts of any length (39, 42, 46 and 48mm) maybe used with these cars to allow for different suspension systems and track widths. Lightweight Aluminium (blue) swing shafts are only to be used on the rear of the car. All non-bridge type mounts may be used upside down with spacers as come with the TRF415 XA to XD sizes, in positions where a bridge mount is required. Wheels All Tamiya 26mm and 24mm (Medium-Narrow) wheels are permitted. 24mm Wheels must be used with 24mm tyres and inserts only. 26mm wheels must be used with 26mm tyres and inserts only. 1 insert per tyre only. Inserts must not be modified in anyway. Wheels must not be modified in any way other than directed, although the vent hole in the rim may be drilled to 4mm in the place of the original vent hole only. Gear ratios are to be the same for both size of wheels. Tyres Any Tamiya Touring Tyre. Inserts Any Tamiya Touring inser. However the most popular are listed below 53434 Shaped Inserts (Soft), Blue 53435 Shaped Inserts (Hard), Black 53582 Shaped Inserts (Medium), Green Only 1 insert per tyre.
